Meet Our Leadership Team
Our Staff:
John Lux - Lead Pastor
John was raised in New York State, but comes from a New England family. John is passionate about discipleship, small group ministry, and training and empowering leaders at every level of the church. He loves worship and prayer, and his own life was transformed in those environments when he was a junior at Boston University in the early years of Antioch Brighton. John spent 10 years serving Christ as an international team leader in North Africa with his brilliant wife and family. After returning to the US and serving in various staff roles at Antioch Brighton, he became Lead Pastor in May 2022. He still longs to be a part of the message of Jesus reaching every people, language, and culture.
Becky Zukauskas - Staff & Worship Coordinator
Becky got involved at Antioch Community Church when she was an undergrad at Boston University.
In the many years since, God has brought her on a journey of learning to live daily life for and with Jesus, singing his praise no matter the circumstances! She loves seeing God's people become more aware of His presence, and seeing new worship leaders grow.
She and her husband Andrew have three children and live in Brighton.
Rosie Holmes - Young Adult Ministry Coordinator
Rosie moved to Boston from her home state of Ohio in the fall of 2013 thinking she'd found her dream job. While true at the time, she didn’t know that four years later God would invite her to make a complete career pivot and move overseas as a missionary to Cambodia! She said yes to that invitation and spent three years serving on Antioch New England's team in Cambodia.
Upon returning to the US, Rosie served as part of our church planting team in Quincy, MA before joining Antioch Brighton staff. She has seen God move in her past workplaces and believes the Lord will bring revival to this city in part through Young Adults living a life among their co-workers that openly glorifies Jesus. She can also be found roasting coffee and working at CafeNation in Brighton! Rosie enjoys a good laugh, paddle boarding on the Charles, and finding yummy new food spots in the area.
Courtney Hale - Communications and Women's Ministry Coordinator
Courtney’s life was transformed when she met Jesus in a real and powerful way as a freshman at Boston College. Since then, she's been on a journey of falling more in love with Him and becoming passionate about the things He's passionate about. She values clear communication and desires to help equip the people of God to live Christ-centered, Kingdom-oriented lives rooted in intimacy with Jesus.
Courtney lives in Brighton with her husband and son.
Sandra Asermelly - Children's Ministry Coordinator
Growing up in a Christian home, Sandra has loved to serve Jesus and His church with her life and talents for a long time. After graduate school, she seriously committed her life to seeing churches planted and moved to Boston in 2001 to be part of Antioch Brighton. Sandra has served on staff in a variety of roles in the past, including in College Ministry, Young Adults Ministry, and Missions.
In her current Children’s Ministry role, Sandra is driven by a passion to see children find a relationship with Jesus and a love for the church. She also loves to laugh and have FUN! Sandra is married to Nick and lives with her 3 children in Newton.
Katie Barago - Family Ministry and Events Coordinator
Katie is a lifelong New Englander, born and raised in Massachusetts. She met Jesus in youth group as a high school student and became part of Antioch Community Church in 2012 as a sophomore at Emmanuel College. After graduating with her B.S. in biology she worked in the events industry for several years. Shortly after the birth of her second child, God invited her to take the passions and skills she had gained as a project manager and apply them to vocational ministry. In every season of life, Katie has seen the goodness of God and she longs to see individuals and families transformed by the power of the Gospel.
Katie lives in Norwood with her husband Mike and two children. In her free time, you can find her in her kitchen baking and cooking, as well as chasing her children around playgrounds.
